Red Hot Chili Peppers Caught Air-Guitaring!

This years Superbowl halftime show proved to be one for the books (IMO). Bruno Mars killed it on stage in a James Brown-esque flury of song, dance, and full piece band… Bruno was joined on stage by the famous Red Hot Chili Peppers, performing their song “Give It Away” in all of it’s shirtless, funk glory.

However, some fans may have seen something different. Upon closer inspection it appears that bassist, Flea, and guitarist, Klinghoffer, did not have either of their instruments plugged in during one of televisions most watched events of all time!

Questions were made if perhaps the guitars had internal wireless receivers (HIGHLY unlikely); however, here’s flea playing the same bass about a month earlier at a UCLA game

Why it is unclear as to why one of America’s most popular rock bands did this, perhaps there was technical difficulty or weather conditions would not allow… For now we’re still unsure.
